At any rate ... I know that when my mother had Cobalt treatments [radiation therapy] some 40 years ago, the treatment "burned" her skin ... which to this day looks stretched and "slick".

Now ... if these are just minor burns, they may heal without scarring ... but I've got scars on my hands from relatively minor burns.

If the explosion involved caustic materials ... well ... you know what a caustic substance can do to your skin. I would suspect that, given that you will be compensated for this, the situation and the resultant burns were considered to be somewhere above the "minor" category.

If, however, the actual burn sites aren't very large ... then you might be able to do wonders in the healing process with Vitamin E. Just take a Vitamin E capsule, make a hole in it with a pin and squeeze out the vitamin E over the individual spots. Who knows? You may at least minimize the scarring ... and you might just manage to avoid scarring of some sites altogether.

There are several topical "scar" treatments out on the market [check your drug store] now ... but I don't know what type of scars these things help.

Since things are still in the healing process ... I'd try the Vitamin E and see what happens with that.

Has a doctor looked at these burns at all?

Mary
Yes, I agree, and with the Vitamin E treatment as well.
