One way to lossen blackheads is a paste made from baking soda and water. GENTLY scrub your face with the paste and rinse. Be gentle, you dont want to irritate your face and cause more blemishes but I've heard great things about it.

Another "natural" remedy for blemishes is Apple Cider Vinger (ACV) used as a toner. SO many people use this and love it. Take 2 parts ACV and 1 part water and apply to your face with a cotton ball. It's a bit stinky but not too bad. Helps to tone your face and heal blemishes.

...I think it's interesting to hear all the different homemade recipe combinations to treat skin conditions but if you really want to kill that bacteria and dramatically reduce your blemishes- go for BENZOYL PEROXIDE (i.e. Oxy 5). Go to any drugstore to get it. It works. Try it-you won't believe the improvement in your skin after a couple of weeks!

BP is good for acne, I used it for years but really didn't start to see improvement until I stopped using BP and went a more homemade/natural route. If I can treat my breakouts with fruits/oils and other natural remedies I'm way more happy than using BP that would dry out my face and make me breakout more if I forgot to use it.

Of course we're all different and what works for me isn't going to work for everyone. But my skin has never looked better than it does now. I've been on a "natural" skin care regimen since September, going on nine months. You can kill bacteria by using Tea Tree Oil too (of course be sure to dilute the oil before putting it on your face)

Tea tree is fab. I use benzoyl peroxide as well. It works really well for me, but I like natural methods as well-- that way, you know exactly what you are putting on your skin

Well, I got my stuff from my doctor, but it seems that it is available in shops as well, although I haven't seen in anywhere. There might be some cleansers around containing BP, though, so you could have a look for that on the ingredients.
