Default smooth, clear complexion?!

i really want a nice smooth clear complexion i have these blotches on my cheeks that I really want to get rid of because there so annoying and i think they help make my face look redder then it actually is..

is there anything I can take or do to give myself a nice smooth even skin tone?? thank you!

if you apply lemon juice on the areas which are darker and leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse off, this should help fade them. But you will have to do this every night until you are satisfied with your results!

What are the red blotches?

If it's acne, then I would recommend Retin-A, which is prescribed by a dermatologist.

If it's redness from having sensitive skin, then you could try using a calming and lightening cleanser, like CamoCare Camomile Moisturizing Cleanser. Or some other extra gentle and ultra mild cleanser. Traditional facial cleansers can irritate sensitive skin by making it even more red and dry than it already is.

i dunno exactly what the red blotches are I think it is from acne because I started gettin them since I got my period and i started breaking out and all that..but i think im red because i do have sensitive skin usually I buy face products with salyidic acid so I think it irritats my skin..

but I went to this one derm and he prescribed retin-a(which ive been using for about a year or so) and then I jsut went to a new one recently and he put me on this stuff called tretin-x(and said it would be less irritating) and he said that I should use purpose redness reducing moisturizer but I dont think its working...plus it makes my skin pretty greasy since i have oily skin...gosh i dont know what to do..i wish there was a pill to fix all of this altogether..

im hopeless..lol

Well it sounds like you have combination skin, which seems to be the hardest to treat. Your acne is more than likely hormonal. I have the same thing (combination skin and hormonal acne from my period).

Since my skin is sensitive and dry more than anything, I use an all natural cleanser for babies called California Baby. It's the most delicate I could find. To avoid the occasional pimples, I limit my sugar intake, avoid junk food and greasy fried food. It's helped keep my complexion in check. Taking a multivitamin everyday and mainly drinking water is also a plus.

Also, I would recommend a Cetaphil product. They're experts on sensitive skin. They have a cleanser for acne prone, sensitive skin. It could be worth trying if nothing else seems to be working for you. http://www.cetaphil.com/Products/Cleansers.aspx

Aveeno has some good products for sensitive skin.
I particularly like the Aveeno Ultra Calming products, they're made with feverfew to reduce redness and calm irritation.

If you find the problem is related to sensitive skin you can also try the following, Avene, La Roche Posay and Climaderm these product are made for people that have redness discoloration of the skin, Some because of sensitivity another from Roceaca.
And also what Lynnlee as suggested are excellent products as well. I just thought I add a couple of one that I know of. Good luck.
