Yes. I've been through that......
One thing is that when you get burnt, there will be a scar no matter what. But to reduce you must hold that area under running cold water and if possible keep ice ASAP. Believe me it reduces the pain and prevent it from leaving a huge scar. Some people apply greasy stuff you can get ASAP like butter etc and I cannot comment on that as I have not done it, but they believe that it can prevent from getting a huge scar. I used one solution in a small bottle from The Body Shop (sorry I don't have that bottle now with me and I don't remember the name). If you ask the sales girls they will help you to get it. The other thing is to rub Cocoa Butter daily and eventually the scar will fade but it take years to dissappear.... Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I realised this through experience... |

I've used vitamin E cream on sunburns, but haven't tried it on an actual burn (I don't think I had any on hand last time I burned myself badly). I burned my arm right in the crease of the inside of my elbow about 2 years ago, I was getting a pizza out of the oven with one hand and holding the oven door with the other and I dropped the pan onto my other arm (the hand holding the door). It made a very wide deep burn. I kept Neosporin Plus Pain Relief on it for weeks. Anything else just didn't keep it lubricated enough and let it get dry and painful. I still have a scar, but it's light colored now instead of dark, so it'sn not very noticeable.
I'll have to remember the vitamin E tip.

I recommend Neosporin and Vitamin E (kind of the same as blackbird!) The fact is, once you get a wound (any kind), the longer it's there, the longer it takes to fade away. Scars kind of have like a "memory system". Thus, you want to heal it asap. Neosporin + Vitamin E will heal it quickly and help prevent scarring!

has anyone heard of bio-oil? Apparently it is v. good for reducing scars and stretch marks, but I have not used it, so I cannot say.
Yes, vitamin e oil is good for scars, and aloe vera is fantastic for burns, as it is very soothing and heals them quickly- reducing scarring |
