Default Nails

I tend and sort of used to bite mine. I am trying to stop the habit but it's so hard when the whole time they split or the layers are uneven, they are so weak and short that they look horrible when they are short. I just can't grow them long enough!! They don't grow very fast either.
I need some help fast. I don't want to try any vanish or products unless they're natural ones, like oils or tips on how to.
They look ok at the moment but short and rough. I know things don't happen over night but I have a hot date in 6 days time and I want to make the most of it!!

Hi there.

Well basically, you might be lacking calcium which helps bones go strong. It also helps your nails become stronger. To help stop biting your nails, put chilly under your nails so that when you bite it, it has a horrible taste. There is also something you can get from your doctor which you put under your nails and it tastes horrible when you bite it.

For you date:
File your nails. Make sure you file your nails in one direction. Use a nail buffer. This cleans your nails, conditions your nails and makes them shiney. They also file your nails.

Paint your nails with 2 coats of clear nail varnish first. And then what ever colour you would like to put on top of that. And then another coat of clear nail varnish.

Hope this helps x

Allso nail health is also dependant on the shape of your cuticles use vitamin E oil and massage well into cuticles and nail bed, also massage is very good to do while applying the Vit e. Try to do this a few times a day and use at night follow up with lots of hand cream, shea butter is good, and put on some moisturizing gloves and leave them on while you sleep. Try it for a few nights and let me know how it goes.

I had the same problem as you with my nails. All I did was bite on them every chance I got and I thought I would never have long healthy nails. One day a friend of mine introduced me to Nailtiques www.naitiques.com the protein is not expensive at all and it REALLY WORKS for all types of nail problems. I did the nail protein #2 everyday for the first week and then every other day after that. Once you get your nails where they are strong and growing then you would switch to nail protein #1 for maitianence. Anyway nothing else would work for my nails except for this product. Another little trick I learned along the way. Be sure and paint your nails a bright color like orange or red just to make them stand out. For some reason when your nails are painted you are most likely not going to bite on them as much or at all. Good luck hopes this helps you. Also use a cuticle oil and a good hand cream this will help too.

The best thing to stop biting are No Bite products. But you can also try nail growth activator, or nail strengthener cream. Those all get your nails growing quickly and nicely before you get a chance to start biting them again. The hardest part is just keeping it up. Once your nails are looking good keep using the cream to keep them from breaking.

clear nail vanish will work because you won't like the taste. and it'll make them stronger in the process also, you can get pills from holland and barrette they make your hair and nails strong.

Biotin supplements help grow strong nails, but it takes about 30 days to begin to see results, so have patience!

Mix Vitamin E Oil, Olive Oil and Glycerin and dip your nails in this mixture for about ten minutes before going to bed. Don't rinse. It works wonders.

As far as your date is concerned, you might want to splurge on a manicure that day. It never ceases to amaze me how good a professional nail tech can make nails look even when they are short and in lousy condition!
