Default Major Post-Waxing Breakout

I've been told that the breakouts that happen after waxing aren't really "breakouts", but a rash/irritation, and goes away within a week. For me, that isn't true. I break out on my upper-arm/shoulder area, and they -are- pimples, and take forever to go away. It takes way longer than a week and even after a month, though they're reduced, you can still see some, and the marks they leave.

Anyway, 2 days ago I went waxing, and I broke out like crazy on my upper-arms/shoulders, and it looks absolutely horrible. I'm about to leave town for University (in 2 days to be exact), and I'd like to be able to look good, and at least wear T-Shirts. Right now, if I wore a T-shirt, even one with longer sleeves, the pimples are extremely visible (they begin from above my elbow).

I've tried some acne/pimple creams from the drugstore, and I've tried applying lemon juice, but the swelling does not go down, and it the pimples are not reducing in size/number.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows what to do about it? I'm not expecting a miracle overnight cure (although that would be lovely ), but I'd like a way to have them almost completely gone by the end of the week (if possible).

The weather is too nice to be wearing long-sleeve shirts, and I'd hate to miss out on events due to the fact that I can't wear anything that shows my upper arms. Not only that, but knowing they're there makes me feel disgusting, and some are a bit painful, too.

Sorry for the long post.......Can anyone please help me?

I suggest you go and see your doctor! I got a skin irritation after waxing, but that was because i was alergic to one of the ingredients. Don't use any chemicals on them...such as pimple creams, as this could be making it worse. Put some vasseline on the irritation and book an appointment with your doctor - he/she could really help!

Hope this helps!

U can rub ice on ur affected area i think this may help u .
In future, after waxing, as soon as possible rub ice it will not let the pimples active.
For now u should consult the doctor.

I've heard about ice, but I've always put cold water and/or ice after, and it never helps...not even a little bit. I always make sure that wax for sensitive skin is applied on my upper arms, but it doens't seem to make a difference.

So by putting acne/pimple cream I've made it worse? I can't tell if it's worse, but I know it's not any better.

So things like lemon juice or toothpaste wouldn't help me here, would it?

I'd see my doc, but she doesn't work on weekends and I leave Sunday morning.

Congrats on your 200th post!

Yep, there's a doctor there, so if I can't see a doctor today, I'll have to do that. I'm likely going to see a doctor at the walk-in clinic, if possible. Hopefully they won't prescribe me super-expensive medication

Thanks for the help!
