Default lemon juice on face ?

Well today i was tanning, and attempting to get burnt on my face so that my pimples will dry up. (its an old wives tale so don't trust me on that)
And i remembered that i heard somewhere that applying squeezed lemon juice on your face then tanning dries up pimples and takes away scars.
Has anyone tried this and it worked, or am i way off ?
thankyou, cassie.

Applying lemon juice on your pimples before bed dries them out, and tanning does also so Im pretty sure using both will dry them out.

Well there are a couple of things that can go wrong with this application, number one the damage you are causing to your skin by getting a sun burn, people do not realize the damage it does to the under lying tissue until you start aging and you have age spots or worse Melanoma setting in.
And to use a lemon with this application is double trouble, sun and lemon bleach (even a tanning bed) so now you have dried up the pimples but your skin as you get older because pigmented and then you have to rely on makeup to even skin tone.
-
Its great that these old wifes tales live on but back when they were made people did not know some of the risks with the skin. Some are very good but some you have to read between the lines to understand what is good and what can be fairly harmful.
-
I am just passing this on for something to think about in your life that very much depends on your skin for every day appearance.

Personally, I don't think the damage that tanning will do to your skin in the long run would be worth the risk. So much damage is done to youur skin by tanning, and mostof it won't show up until you're probably in your 30's.

Just adding my 2-cents worth.

yes, i just saw a skin cancer add on tv, so i think its now fake tan for me.

ever since i started this board, i have been using lemon juice every night, and it has worked miracles ! i suggest it only if you have oily skin like me though, it dries your skin out heaps.

ever since i made this post ive been applying lemon juice on my face every night. it seemed like a miracle because after a few weeks i was left with completely clear skin and it was no longer oily. so thinking that i no longer had a purpose for it, i stopped using it and after a few nights i was back to square one.
