Default positive thinking

WE ALL EMPLOY positive thinking to different degrees. Taking responsibility for your health. People differ in their relative negative/positive approach to life. Some see the bottle as half-full, and others see it as half-empty. But, as research increas¬ingly shows, positive thinking can lead to positive health. The mind-body connection is now an accepted scientific fact. Thinking positively doesn't mean building castles in the air - dreaming dreams that will never be realized, or at least not this week. You can't become a ballet dancer if you haven't taken any dance lessons! Think within the scope of possibility; be realistic. That way, you won't leave yourself open to disappointment. Lay plans - bricks on the path leading inexorably for¬ward - but lay one at a time; don't set yourself too many tasks. Be positive about what you know and can realistically do, aiming to build on your knowledge and experience.
Many people find positive affirmations very help¬ful. The idea is to repeat your personal affirmation regularly. You might say or think, "I am special," and repeat that over and over. Do it as you dress, or sit on the train going to work. Or your affirmation might be "I can do this job." As you say it to yourself over and over, regularly each day, the thought becomes a nugget of truth deep within you which can be latched onto for strength and support during difficult moments. A good time to do positive affirmation is while massag¬ing yourself with essential oils.
