BACKGROUND: (You can skip to "To the point")
I come from a native mother and a caucasion father, so I get this UGLY farmer's tan. Or uneven tan. As in my whole arms, chest, neck and face are tanned, and the rest of my body is only slightly tanned. Well I know the sun is terrible for you, and since I'm this big health-freak I won't go tanning at all. Except for 5-10 minutes which is supposedly good for vitamin D. I'll go in the sun alot with protection, but never for the purpose of straight tanning. TO THE POINT: I've heard of self-spray fake tans. Or something. I tried one before I began this lifestyle, it wasn't very good, but I'm sure some are great. But the things in those sprays I would never let touch my skin again. Remember those "tanning pills?" They had Carotene or Betacarotene which are found in Carrots. Plus people say to get a more colourful or tanned complexion, eat carrots or drink carrot juice. Here's someone's recipe: "A quick trip to the grocery store, two minutes preparation and fifteen minutes relaxation… Result: you'll look like you spent the winter in the tropics. 1. Grate a few carrots; choose deeply coloured ones since they contain more beta carotene. 2. Add a few drops of sweet almond extract or oil; 3. Apply to the face; let work for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water." On another note, everyone knows that cucumbers or other plants, can brighten your face. Why? Is it their bright pigment, or some chemical in them? If it is their pigment, then does your skin steal pigments from things you rub on it? If that's true, then can't we become darker by putting a carrot mask all over our body ? If that actually worked and made us orange, maybe we could find another vegetable/fruit that has a nice brown colour. (Potatoes skins?) ![]() DISCUSS: -Do you think I'm insane? -Pigments! -Carrots and their Carotenes -Do tanning pills work? -I'm back! Lol -Whatever else you want to throw in here

My Uncle used to Drink Carrot juice every night, and I remember one instance where I was looking at him (I was a little girl) Uncle why are you orange colored.
- The other one is my sister always must be tanned, just a while before she tried tanning booth, she discovered pills that are suppose to give you a tan, she started taking them but no tan, until you looked at the psalms of her hands or soles of her feet they were a bright orange color.

Weird. XD But do you think it's the pigment or the natural chemical ? Because if it's the pigment than there are so many endless possibilities. They say you should only do the carrot mask thing once every week(or something) or you'll end up looking totally orange. So yeah.
