All lines carry them, ask a BA for a consultation. They are more than happy to help you on this. Or, one of our members here will direct you to several great home-made remedies here on the forum. Either way, you have some great options to help keep your skin being balanced. Good luck and welcome to the board ![]()

I'm going to counter "conventional wisdom" and recommend that you avoid, at all costs an oil free regimen. Those products tend to dry your skin ... which tells your system "Hey! We'd better produce more oil! It's parched up there!"
The reason that your skin is oily is that your system produces more oil than it would if you had "normal" skin. Some genetic flaw tells the glands that produce the oil that your skin needs XX amount of oil ... even though you know it only needs X amount. That said ... you are only going to throw your excess-oil-production system into overdrive if you dry out the upper layers of your skin. A far better approach would be to try the Oil Cleansing Method ... even though that sounds a little preverse. If you put "Oil Cleansing Method" into the Google Search Engine to see lots of discussion and results [both good and bad] of those using this system of cleansing. The very best aspect of this cleansing system ... from my perspective is that the next morning, after using the Oil Cleansing Method the night before, my face isn't oily. My nose isn't an oil slick ... neither is my forehead or chin. I'm 54 years old ... and have used just about every treatment over the years ... from sulfer to the "newer, kinder" "oil free" systems ... some worked for a while, then stopped working ... some never worked at all ... and in the long run, after spending thousands of dollars on these products ... the more simple [and certainly cheaper] route has worked out the best. If you keep an open mind while reading about this method ... which is centuries old by the way ... I think you'll see the logic of it. Here are a couple of links to get you started ... and don't be perplexed by the actual type of forums these discussion appear within ... there are lots of people talking about it! http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...&page=18&pp=15 http://forum.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/...hreadid=234834 Good luck Mary |

I know people who have had very good luck with both oil-free products and oil-filled products when treating problem skin (though I have never heard of an oil-cleansing regiman for oily skin, though I see your reasonsing). I recommend focusing on that the product does have, as opposed to what it doesn't have. I think you should look for products that contain glycolic acid to exfoliate cells gently. you should also invest in a bezoyl peroxide treatment gel for blemish prone areas.
This site will have some good products on it: http://preventacne.net |
