Default my lips are too red

I have naturally very red lips which I hate.I try natural/beige coloured lip glosses and pale pink/whitish/silvery/glittery glosses but none change the colour of my lips. They stand out soooo much.Does any one know what can tone the redness down?

Use a concealer on your lips before applying a lighter color.

Good advice from Judi, as always!
I don't know what to add, other than what you're already doing, using neutral or pink lip colors. Look for opaque colors (ones with a white base), they should give you more coverage than sheer (see-through) colors.

Default Hi....

Try a powder on your lips ,have you ever seen the trick? Put a tissue over your lips and brush powder over it onto lips,It is meant to keep lipstick on longer, but if concealer isn't working??????Try a good matte concealer, and not too much.
I would love to have your problem to tell the truth,as you age you lose pigment in your lips,so really try to be grateful, you can get away with a sheer gloss and done!
One more ..are you using a lipliner in a neutral color? Cover your lips not just around the edges,,,Yea that's it....Good luck!!!

try a sun-proofed lipbalm, then whatever colour you want on top.
the sun-proofed lipbalm lightens your lips, due to the sunscreen in it

I actually have the same problem! If I want to use a lighter lipstick, I outline my lips with a concealer pencil and use my powder foundation on my lips. To avoid a caked-on look I use glosses and not lipsticks.

This may sound crazy, but many makeup artists dot visine on red areas to treat them- on breakouts, for instance. I don't know if I would use it on the lip area, though, and I agree that you should look at it as an asset- lip color does fade with age. Just avoid using anything with red pigment on them.
