I don't need any whitening, but the oatmeal mask also sounds very soothing. I've read that oatmeal has skin-calming properties.

I, myself have never been fond of products that lighten the skin. Sometime you will find you skin will never have proper pigment. So your skin will end up with white patches that never change color or tan.

Default Skin Lightening products

There are many good ways to lighten your skin safely and basically what it does:

It puts a hold on the natural pigmentation of a persons skin (reducing the production of melanin).
Many of the creams and lotions also contain a sunscreen which protect you from UV .
As your skin renews itself it becomes lighter because it blocks the pigmentation.

Just buy using a day cream with SPF15 or sunscreen can also help.

And if you're looking at the goodness of nature, try Tamarind which has skin lightening properties.
