Welcome to the forums manjusha. Hope you like this place as much as I do

First of all, if you are the sort of person who loves long baths, then resist. The long, leisurely bath that relaxes you could dry out your skin completely.

Avoid soap, instead, use a body wash or milky/creamy cleanser or choose soaps that are mild and moisturizing. You may also use moisturizing bars which have added emollients. Avoid soaps with deodrants as they can be harsh on the skin. Also avoid loofahs.

After bathing, immediately apply a nourishing moisturizer specially formulated for dry skin on your dry body areas. Remember that dry skin lacks water, not oil, so most oily substances moisturize dry skin by preventing evaporation. For your moisturizer, opt for thick cream or oil-based moisturizers, rather than a runny lotion, as this contains more oil than water and will help seal in more moisture.

Hope that is of atleast some help to you

Hey pearl! some nice tips by you
I will only add this: After having bath, you may apply jojoba oil or sweet almond oil on your dry body parts and see the difference.

You may also maximize the effects of hydration by adding the essential oil, angelica, to your day and night creams

It seems shea butter works equally good with dry skin.

Wink

smoothing meltedbutter and a bit of water over dry areas works really well. Just leave it on for overnight and make sure youre wearing a cotton/material that breathes clothing then in the morning wash off with a mild and moisturizing soap. The butter tends to be a bit waxy, but it definately is a reall good moiturizer and should get rid of the dryness! I have really dry skin as well!!

get a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids and use vitamin E creams topically.
