What happens at a facial (Never had one)

My mom told me that I should go for a facial, but what do they do to your face then? Never been to one....

These are the correct steps to follow:

1. Massage your skin for 1-2 minutes with cleansing cream.
2. Moist your face with warm water.
3. Gently exfoliate your face with facial scrub removing dead cells.
4. Take steam for 5 minutes.
5. Apply a face mask to your face as per your needs. (Choose a clay based if you have oily skin, or a moisturizing one if you have dry skin.) Leave on for 10-15 minutes.
6. Rinse off with warm water.
7. Smooth the oily skin areas with a skin toner.
8. Dot your skin with moisturizer and gently massage.
9. Apply a soothing eye cream on around eye areas to reduce fine lines and ensure super-soft skin.

And also they will massage your face with massage cream after they exfoliate u. Then after u take steam, they will clean your face from black head n white head by squeezing it with a device, I dont know what it's name.

Ow, I forget....and its gonna be a little hurt when they squeeze black head n white head, especially on your nose area......but after u finish, u'll discover your skin is brighter n u can feel it smoother, and more supple, u'll be happy, so enjoy the pain.....hehehehehehe

After steaming and balck/white head removal, your face looks very puffy. Is it necessary to apply an astringent to close all the open pores(due to the steaming) before applying the face mask?

i think there is no need of applying astringent to close the pores before applying mask because pores should be open for a more deep reaction of the mask.
