Question Treating Acne Scars

Hi, I'm new here. Love the forum layout. Anyway, I am confused about treating my acne scars. I think they are ice-pick scars, because they appear only on my cheeks and they're small, pinkish, and in clusters. I have heard of microdermabrasion, but I have a current case of mild acne. What would be the best method for treating them? Should I try using some kind of pigment lightening cream first, before dermabrasion? Any advice is apperciated!

Welcome to the forums. I myself would suggest you see a Dermatologist before doing anything to your skin. Microdermabrasion is great but you have an outbreak at this time. Even when it goes away you got be tempting fate and trying to use some of these products. Go see a derm before you do anything and they will be able to suggest what you can you and what you can't. I just do not want to see you make matters worse and end up with more scars. Hope this helps!

Oh, absolutely, I agree with Judi 100% on this one.

Better to be safe than make a potential situation worse.

BTW, Welcome to the board.

Good. But still there ARE home remedies to cure these scars.
I am gonna list those treatments.....

Garlic has antibiotic properties making it an excellent treatment for pimples and acne. Apply peeled, mashed garlic cloves to skin blemishes.

Cucumber-Besan (it's gram flour) for blemished skin…Add Cucumber juice to Besan, applies to face and wash off after it dries. This will also tighten the skin pores.

Turmeric in Coconut Oil is good to lighten acne scars, use this mixture on affected parts. Results can be seen within a week or two.

*Blemished / Blotchy skin Tonic*….
Make a mixture of 1 part apple cider vinegar and 8 parts water. Store it in a decorative bottle in the bathroom. Rinse face 1-2 times a day with the solution.

Hope i helped....

Thanks everyone for the advice! I've already made an appt. for the derm and I will definitely try some of those home remedies Jia! I also read an article on this site about acne scars and the reccomended product is MaMa lotion. So..I'm going to try that. Anyway, Thanks again!

Ha ha ha.

Dear!

I had been searching over net for the tips and remedies for years + reading views of people + observing people getting cured........

Some are tried and tested and some required to b tested. A patch test is always a great idea for you.
