Cool Acne scars

I have normal to dry skin which is occasionally sensitive. I use a cream cleanser and Cetaphil on my face at night to wash off makeup and cleanse my skin. I only get pimples on my chin and have quite a few acne scars there which I'd love to get rid of. I'm also wondering if I should use a separate product for my chin? Any products which you can reccomend would be helpful!

I've heard a lot of great things about Proactiv. That could be something worth trying.

Keloid gel or Retin-A is usually prescribed by dermatologists' for scars.

A dermatologist is the only one who can really recommend the appropriate product.

If they're mild, I reccomend trying a lightening cream/gel to lighten up the pigmentation. If they're darker and more into the skin, you might want to consider microdermabrasion or something of that nature. On this website under the acne section, there is a great article about acne scars. I recently purchased a lotion off of a website, and I have been using it for about a week, but I can't tell if it's working yet. (If you would like the site, get in contact.) Hope this is helpful.

Well, microdermabrasion might work, but sad thing is didn't work from my friends i guess it varies from person to person
For me i like using Ettusai's acne scars lightening essence, tried it after hearing many raves in another forum
But overall, its still the best to see a derm, she knows whats best for your skin

Chin huh?.......as a prevention......make sure your telephone n all the things that possibly get in touch with your chin skin is clean......that can be the 'things' that caused the problem since u have normal to dry which should not easily get pimples.......

I dont really think u should get seperate product for your chin.....just use tea tree oil at night on the spot,u can also use retin-a cream to get your scarrs exfoliated to fade n make the pimples easily extracted.

Smile

A big thank you to everyone for the great tips, I've decided I'll be washing my pillowcases once a week and changing them every few days, as well as cleaning the phone! (Thanks Rinda).

I just started using Neutrogena's Skin-Clearing, Fast Acting gel, it seems to be doing something good

I'll also look into Retin A, I'm overseas so its not always easy to find familiar products, it seems we've got Nivea, Clean and Clear, Olay and that's it!

Neutrogena makes an acne scar fading peel, not sure what it's called exactly, but you could try something like that.
