Pedicure Know How
Even though our feet work so hard many of us fail to take time to give them the care and attention they need. Start taking care of your feet now and it will become a habit. HERE'S HOW 1 - After removing polish soak your feet for 10-15 minutes in hot water containing three drops of Lavender oil or add half a cup of Epsom salt, a natural disinfectant. This will soften and relax the feet, and loosen dirt in the toenails. Place your feet flat in the container, flex your toes upward and curl them down. Do this about 12 times. Keep exercising them for another 5 -10 minutes. Use a Pumice stone to rub your heels and the ball of your feet to remove dead skin and hard callouses. Or you can massage your feet with an exfoliating scrub. If you discover any rough skin on the ball of your feet or heels use a loafer to remove all traces. A pumice stone can be used to remove hard . 2 - Dry your feet. 3 - Clip and file your toenails across. 4 - Using your thumb and forefinger thoroughly massage your feet in a circular motion with a foot lotion or body moisturizer. Work the lotion between the toes and be sure to massage them. A Tea Tree lotion is perfect for the benefits of a soothing and healing massage. 5 - Relax your feet by placing them on a pillow and lay down for 10-15 minutes to relieve tension in your feet and legs. Finally apply clear polish after thoroughly drying, and apply the shade of your choice. Use a Q-tip moistened with nail-polish remover to remove any polish that missed the mark. Let your polish dry for a few hours before putting on close-toed shoes. Apply one coat of top coat three days after your pedicure, then every third day after that to keep polish from chipping. If your feet are going to be in the sun, use a top coat with sunscreen, to keep the polish from fading.
