I'm surprised that out of the 19 replies in this thread, no one had yet mentioned that you cannot spot reduce. Exercising and focusing on a particular body part in hopes of losing fat in that area won't cause you to lose fat from it.

Having a clean diet consisting of 5-6 well-balanced meals should be your primary focus (all containing adequate proteins, fats, and carbohydrates; excluding your post-workout and pre-bedtime meal), along with weight training and cardio. Direct abdominal work 2-3x's a week would be enough.

Thank you for a great piece of info and reminding us of this like you said you can work one part of your body but diet and cardio have to be worked in as well to gain the results required. Great post.
