I know I haven't been frequenting the message board for the past while, but this embarrassing thing happened and I automatically decided I'd ask here, because there are a lot of females of different ages here and I was hoping I might get some perspective ...
I had hemorrhoids when I was, like, 16. It went away, and I'm 21 now, and for the past day have felt that pokey, sore feeling that indicated they're back. I was also constipated most of the day. Then when I finally had a bowel movement, I had this huge amount of mucuousy discharge. (EWWW!) I am going to make a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning but... anyone else ever heard of this for hemrhoids? I asked my mom, and she said it was normal and that happened to her..but she tends to say things to make me feel better. Whenever I looked it up online, it never mentioned that symptom at all, and moreso talked about bowel cancers and diseases, or STDS.... I'm just really freaked out and wanted to see if anyone else had any experience like this? Thank you for listening, anyone who managed to keep reading after the word "mucuous" ![]() (on another note, I have had a VERY bad diet lately due to stress. I'm an emotional eater. ) Last edited by minkychans : 01-09-2008 at 03:05 AM. Reason: forgot to add an important tidbit |

Yes this is normal try to drink more fluids and also taking a fiber supplement will help so that your not putting strain on the hemorrhoids. Also when they flare up there are products on the market that really help. Preparation H and I think Tucks is another.

Yeah, I agree with Judi. It's more of a diet and stress thing.

Just keep an eye out, you want to make sure there is no blood in there. that would be a problem. But other than that, don't worry, it's happened to me once before.
