Okay, we've all been here before. Though it's happening to me at the momento; friends aren't as true as I thought they were, looks are completely down the drain, haircut looks completely horrible, you get the idea.
And I'm 100,000,000,000,000,000 percent ready to do something about it!..but I kinda need some help. Here are some pictures of my hairstyle: ![]() ![]() ![]() And the top is cut rather short, hence the fauxhawk. Not too pretty, and I'm in desperate need to fix it so I don't look so boyish anymore! And my acne, well, needless to say I'm back on proactive again, and I have cover-up to protect myself in the meantime. But right now I'm in desperate need of some suggestions as to my makeup: something girly. Something girly that's not too overboard, but still says me. I'm dedicating my summer to getting in shape, and caring more about my appearance, but right now my hair/makeup is in desperate need of help!!! I wanna feel good about myself but its hard when I have issues looking at myself on the outside.

You could use a flatiron to straighten and smooth your hair, angling the sides in toward your face a bit and finish the top with a spiky piece-y look using a bit of texturizing paste and hairspray.
Makeup wise, blue & green are big for spring, so those would be great colors to try out on your eyes and pair with a pink or pinky beige lip.

I will try to keep my comments appropriate, given that I am easily old enough to be your mother (chromosomal issues notwithstanding).
First, I think your best friend for the next couple weeks is going to be a hairbrush. Difficult to overstate what a positive difference it makes for your bangs when they are not straight down (the third photo in your post is so much more flattering!). And this will become even easier/more attractive with just a little more hair growth... The sides, basically, look ok to me. Blackbird's suggestions would definitely help, but overall I think you're not in bad shape there. Don't fret about the acne. If it's not visible in photos (and it's not) then makeup will more than take care of it in real life. Personally, looking at the photos you posted I see an attractive face that could (in two of three pics) use a good hair-brushing, and definitely a sincere smile - which I am quite sure is in there somewhere. Once those are featured we can figure out any marginal tweaks that might turn "great" into "fab"! Erica

Yes Yes, Erica is right, another thing i have noticed is that many adolescent girls feel bad about themselves and there appearence but what i can say is always have confidence, it is a great thing, people who have confidenc are already half way there and the truth is if you feel you look bad the chances are that you do look bad but if you feel you look beautiful the chances are you do look beautiful.
I know my advice is rather stupid but believe me, no matter what you do to your face, your hair or your body it is no use if you feel so ugly, this is the peice of advice your going to get from every one. I thought i would post this because you said your dedictaing your summer on your appearence, no matter what, think positive! |

Tora,
Looking at your picture, I see a pretty girl. It is hard to beleive you are so down on yourself. I think with a stylish hairdo, some eyeliner, a small amount of mineral makeup on the cheeks, and some lip gloss and you will be beautiful. I agree with Blackbird, I think some spikes on top would be a much better look than having it straight down. Good Luck.

I no what you feel like Tora, I got a cut I am less than happy with. Good news hair grows, like your self I have found tricks to live with it until I have it a little bit longer to have something else styled into in. Play with it, gel it pull one side straight back (with gel and bobby pins or clips) Blow dry some body into it by going the opposite way from the root. Good luck we will do this together.

I was going to say from the photos that I think you have BEAUTIFUL skin! For the hair, you could also try spray wax and make a messy, chunky texture in your hair, I think that would look funky.
You are young, so I'd stay away from any heavy makeup....try a mineral makeup. I'm trying to guess whether you're more warm or cool, the photos look like you're on the warm side but I could be wrong. Lighting, you know. Blush if you're warm for summer might be a nice coral (lightly) and some kind of what I call a dewy-looking eye, a light color with a nice shimmer to it (do a google search for Bare Escentuals Nude Beach glimmer and that's what I am thinking). Just a fresh and natural look and a smile! I know it's tough when you find out some people aren't really your friends...it stinks!
