I just got home from visiting my grandmother in the hospital again.
She's 87 and had a heart attack before Chirstmas, but because of her age, they didn't want to do much so they just put in a stint. Later they had to replace it and add another one. Now she's had another heart attack earlier this week, but they won't do any more surgery, so it's just a matter of controlling what they can with medication and keeping her comfortable.

Thanks Judi, and Rose.
If she can avoid another heart attack, she could live a while longer, but if she has one it's likely to be the end. I got to spend about 4 hours at the hospital with her yesterday (about 2 hours alone, then 2 more hours with other family members there) and we had a long talk during one of her more alert hours when it was just the two of us. She knows what's going on and accepts that she could go at any time. She said that it's okay because my grandad will be waiting for her when she passes. I'm glad I got to spend that time with her, I'll always remember it.

Aww, blackbird I'm so sorry.
Well, yesterday my dad picked me up from Taylors. I had asked Richard to dog-sit little Holly for me, he and dad agreed, so Holly was in the car with them. I hadn't honestly expected it, but didn't think about it at the time. Dad said we had to stop by Mom's house to get Richard's motorcycle helmet, so we dropped by. Mom of course, was down in Anchor point, but Richard had a key. So Holly, Dad and I waited in the car for him. Well then, Dad started asking me about my friend's birthday party, and I told him I wasn't going to go because I didn't want to dump Holly on them another night, and I would get her present to her some other way, because there was no point driving all the way across town just to drop her present off. Then Dad said, "So you're not going?" and I said, "No, I'm not" and then he told me I might as well get out of the car now. I was really confused, so I just said, "Uhm, Okay?" Grabbed Holly and my backpack, and started to get out of the car. I said Bye but Dad didn't even look at me. Richard, who was still inside, asked me why I was in, and I told him Dad wanted me to stay here instead of at his house. Richard just said he was very sorry, and went back out to the car, I thought he was leaving, but he went to get Holly's stuff out of the car. I hadn't realized they planned on dumping me at Mom's, but they wouldn't have had Holly and her stuff in the car if they didn't. So I spent a half hour bawling my eyes out, because I knew my dad didn't really like me, but I never knew he was that coldhearted. And well, here I am. Sitting at Mom's with the dog, waiting for Mom to get back from Anchor Point. My head hurts. XD

And what's worse, I'm willing to work for it, which scares me. So I suppose I'm plugging my nose and taking the plunge; let's show those rookies how it's done. ![]() Last edited by Tora : 05-04-2008 at 08:34 PM. |

have been at work all day. i work as a veterinary nurse and today they'd placed me in the reception and the phone never stopped ringing...so it was quite stressful before lunch. then when I got home I went directly to the stable to train my horse and do the other every day things you have to do like grooming and mucking out.
now I'm going to relax a bit before it's time to get my beauty sleep ![]()

I have been doing a LOT of procrastination (and some revision too). I have my last exam(s) tomorrow, both english literature papers. AAARGH!! am the most worried about them, as I'm just not very good at it, throughout the year my marks have been prety much the same (ranging around a B), which is v annoying, as I'd quite like an A really (well, wouldn't everyone).
One paper is one essay each on Dracula and a selection of poetry, and the other paper (which I am DREADING) is on The Tempest, two essays! and we're not allowed our books in with us, so we have to memorise all the quotes. nnngh!!! I can't express how much I abhor the tempest. v v v boring. grr.. back to revision now, I guess! |
