Default Friends needs help

Hi, i am wanting to know what advice to give my friend who's mum snapped at him and he said that she slapped him and went crazy for no reason and kicked him out of the house. The thing is that im a guy and i have no experience whatsoever in putting it in words with this type of problems and giving advice to friends about family issues, whenever my mum snaps, i just deal with it and stay out of her way for a few days but this is the first time any of my friends came to me for family advice and i don't know what to say. Any help would be very appreciated.

Does he know what set her off, if not he could try to wait till she is calmer and try to talk to her about what upset her, if it was him they should try to find a common ground to work towards mending this rift. I am a mother as well and I know that there is always 2 sides to a story and sometimes its just a big miss understanding that can be resolved by talking about it.
