I got mine measured at the bra-store. Nothing big, they just use a tape measure over your shirt and take a few measurements. I'm not too good on figuring out sizes on my own.

You may be better off getting measured professionally than trying to do it yourself. I spent 4 or 5 years thinking I was a 34D, only to learn (via professional fitting) that I'm actually a 32DD to 30DDD depending on the bra. I was skeptical at first, but my bras of those sizes fit a thousand times better than the ones I had before. I also remember hearing somewhere that 80% of women wear the wrong bra size and don't even know it. So go get measured! Your best bet is a specialty shop that does only lingerie - they really know their stuff.

Very nearly all women out there are wearing the wrong bra size. Cherry's experience is typical - by far the most common mistake is too small in the cups and too big in the band. Getting measured is the way to go. If you live near a relatively high-end department store, they usually have professionally trained fitters on staff. If not, a good lingerie boutique is your next best bet.

Wherever you go:
1. Call first and make an appointment. It's much more likely they will set you up with the person on staff that actually knows what she's doing.

2. If possible, go early in the day. The store will be less crowded and they'll be more likely to take the time and really help you.

3. Be sure to buy a couple new bras while you're there

Good luck!

getting it measured is definteley the best way, althought it may be a little awkward
i'd say go for it though because its better having a bra that fits and is comfortable, than one that doesnt.
having a bra that doesnt fit properly can also be quite bad for your back.
goodluck with it

Ooooh yes. For years it hurt me to stand up for more than half an hour at a time. My whole upper back would be totally sore for the rest of the day. Now that I finally have bras that fit, I haven't had the least bit of pain. And no digging in of the straps, or riding up of the band, or any of that nonsense. Go get fitted! You won't regret it.

Side note: While watching "What Not To Wear" the other night, I recognized one of the locations where Stacy and Clinton took a woman shopping. It's this store called Intimacy in New York -they have other locations as well- and it happens to be where I got fitted. If any of you who are reading this live in the area, I highly recommend it.

I went to lingerie store today and found out that I've been totally wrong. I thought I had 75 B (European size) or maybe 75 C, but infact I should wear 70 DD. In other words, I made the common mistake too small in cups and too big in the band. the ones I tried on today fitted so much better, I'm really amazed. I advice everyone to go to a store and get measured.

Also you should think about which type of bra that suits you the best. for me a balconette looks much better than a push up.
