Default Ways to make yourself age faster

As if maintaining a youthful complexion throughout the years isn`t already complicated, research now shows that men and women may be contributing to their aging process. Even the simplest everyday actions may actually result in making you look older. It’s tough to know that you may actually be contributing to your aging process without even realizing it!

Believe it or not, smoking makes you age faster. Aside from it being bad for you health-wise, smokers slowly add the signs of aging to their faces. If you’re looking to age a couple of years, smoking cigarettes is a surefire way. Longtime smokers tend to sport complexions that aren’t vibrant and youthful, but yellow, slack and dull. With each puff of a cigarette, smokers expose their bodies to biochemical changes that occur from the ingredients contained in cigarettes. This results in a negative affect that actually speeds up the aging process. Many smokers have been shown to develop leathery and deeply wrinkled skin, compared to those who don’t smoke. In addition, smokers tend to develop fine lines around the mouth from sucking on cigarettes.

Certain facial expressions can also lead to premature signs of aging. Consistent laughing, smiling and other facial expressions that use a lot of the muscles can develop crow’s feet and other fine lines around the eyes, and mouth. This doesn’t mean you should stop smiling or laughing, however. Keeping the skin properly moisturized and using a good quality eye cream can stop the signs of aging from appearing on your face before your time. If you have the habit of doing facial muscle exercises, break it now because these types of exercises actually create wrinkles and fine lines over a period of time.

The way you sleep can also have an affect on the way your complexion ages. Normally, sleep lines disappear from your face after you`ve woken up and are going about your day. However, if you continuously rest your face on your pillow the same way for nights in a row, your sleep lines won`t disappear once your head is off the pillow. Instead they form into wrinkles. For women who sleep on their sides, these sleep lines often appear on their chin and cheeks, while men tend to get these lines on their foreheads, since a majority of men press their face down into the pillow when they sleep.

To avoid this, try sleeping on your back more often so your face isn’t pushed so hard into your pillow throughout the night. If you have to sleep on your side, try to mentally remind yourself to roll over and switch sides from time to time. The key here is to not rest your face on your pillow the same way night after night.

Smoking also constricts the capillaries, reducing effective blood flow that is essential to young, healthy skin, and each cigarette smoked depletes the body of 25 milligrams of vitamin C, which is important in the production of collagen, the underlying network that keeps skin supple and young looking.

Also Alcohol has a very similar effect on the skin as smoking.
