I think there's definitely a trend towards products that are natural, in everything, not only in cosmetics. We're being taught that nautral is better and healthier.
Is it? I don't know. I think it depends on the individual product and the person using it. In my own experience, I've found some natural formulas that work well, and some that don't. |

I think that this post should be moved to the Fashion and Lifestyle sub-forum... But what the heck do I know...Everyone is more environmentally aware not only to the welfare of our planet, but to ourselves as well. And this is being translated into our health, beauty and diet. It all starts with the us, the end user consumer, all the way up to corporate responsibility of big business. Even main stream cosmetic lines all have some sort of natural ingredient in their products. This is a growing trend, we as consumers are demanding a more natural, healthier, and cleaner lifestyle. And we are seeing it more and more in everyday things. Is it better than conventional cosmetics? Only time will tell. Most certainly ongoing research has definately improved the quality and longevity of natural cosmetics. And it has grown in popularity in the last 10 years. For me, I'll still stick with my regular make-up lines, due to the fact of the industry I am in... Film / television and fashion and the high profile people within it. Why? It's very, very bad when you have an A-lister having an allergic reaction in your chair. I have seen it happen, and it's an ugly scene all around. Thank goodness it hasn't happened in my chair. Also Film Union rules state that it's illegal to have natural products in the Make-up trailer / room. As a "general" rule, people have allergic reactions to natural products / ingredients. Think of nuts, dairy, pollen, plants. People don't react to synthetic materials in processed products. However, the flip side to this is, it can be cancer causing. So it is a choice between the lesser of two evils. Example: West Nile Virus Natural prevention: Citronella Effects: Lasts maybe 10 min. before you need to reapply Cause: Possible WNV infection, which can lead to death Synthetic prevention: Deet Effects: Lasts 7 hours Cause: Possible cancer, which can lead to death

I completely believe in all natural and organic products in my house! I only use all natural henna hair dye on my hair and have converted almost every friend I have to use it also. I know buying organic/natural foods for the house can be expensive but, something are so worth the out come. If you are interesting in using the hair dye product which isn't too much more expensive than the kind from your local drug store. I get mine at The Henna Hut

Maybe "natural" is better because it's "natural".. I agree with you that it depends on the individual tendency. Some people are vegetarians, vegans...the others love the hamburgers and the hot-dogs.. ![]() It's more than trend, it's life philosophy ![]()

For me it depends on the product and skin. I love skincare from Dr. Hauschka and think that it's really good, but I like Clinique, too and sometimes I use durgstore products like L'oreal.
