Default 80's Fashion Appreciation Thread

I'm not sure if this site has ever had an 80's Fashion Appreciation Thread, but it seems like a good idea at the time.

For some reason I love Molly Ringwald's styles (Pretty in Pink costume design was done by Marilyn Vance) in those 80's 'after school special' movies. It's not like new wave or "80's to the Max" or anything but it has a subtle 80's appeal which makes it pretty cool.

Same goes for James Spader who is also in Pretty in Pink.

I graduated from high school in 1986, so I rememeber the 80's quite well! LOL
I remember wearing big hair, backcombing it out so that it not only stood up on top, it stood out to the side, too. I've seen photos of mye where my hair is actually wider than my shoulders!
And the big cans of hairspray we used! I recall a friend of mine one morning telling me how she'd gotten in the shower the night before, and was really tired, so she just leaned back against the wall of the shower and let the steam relax her. Well, when she tried to straighten up, all the hairspray had stuck her hair to the wall!

That brings back memories. Some years ago when my hair was very long (and when I was searching for the real me) I too loved big hair. My sister and I had these huge rollers and tons of teasing combs. On weekends we'd have a contest to see who could achieve the biggest hairdo. It was a lot of fun and I do remember using lots of hairspray. Thanks for jogging my memory Blackbird.

My go-to make up colors were pink & blue eyeshadow, lots of eyeliner, and pink lipstick!

I am an 80's kid and I grew up to love their fashion.

my girls were in middle and high school in the 80's. the youngest one used to do the high bang and 2 cans of hair spray on it. i think i still have residue on my bathroom door!!! can't say much, early high school in 1964. 1965, was the high hair and the french buns. and sprayed to almost make it hard. i did the natural look for my junior and senior year.

Ah yes, hairspray residue! You could really get stuff stuck in that glue. I remember having to clean my curling irons all the time, because I'd spray my hair, curl it, then spray it again!
