Has anyone tried the helix haircut, which is supposed to make your straight hair curl without perms? I guess it involves doing more to the strand than just cutting the ends, like weakening the strand a teeeeeny, teeeeny amount here and there with special shears, while twisting the hair, so that the hair wants to curl around the minutely weakened areas. Anyway, it sounds to me like it would really work, but it is a pretty expensive cut, and I don't just want to be gullible, so I would really like to know if anyone has actual experience with it. One hairstylist forum I visited had mixed reviews, but mostly lots of doubt from hairstylists themselves, who did not appear to understand that the process involves more than just cutting the end of the strands. So - if you've had a haircut with the helix shears, what did you think? Did it work?

The New "HELIX" cutting System is done with curved/torqued
shears, and the right wrist movements. We can add a tremendous amount of volume/curl into the hair, leaving hair to have a soft defusable curl or tremendous volume. Leaving the integerity of the hair 100% healthier. Thus giving the person, more shine, manageability, and control for styling at home. This phenomenal cut is the best thing to hit the industry in 200 years! We can make the hair look 3 times thicker, healthier, more shine, holds curl 10 times better.. plus, you can be assured that the "HELIX" Designer does a great Haircut if he or she has taken the time and money to further his/her education, to perfect their haircuts. I think that is the point with these shears it depends on who is using them and how long they have been trained with these. If you are seriously thinking about having this done, I would do a little bit of homework to find out who does it and if they have reference available to you. Sorry I could not be more help. Let us know what you find out. Welcome to the forums if you have not already done so, please introduce yourself under the introduction page. That way if gives all the other members a chance to do the meet and greet. I am sure you love it here great advice, great people and some laughs. Welcome ![]()
