my mum tells me off for striaghtening my hair she says it damages it too much....but if you use heat protection spray, it wont damage AS much...but it still could.

I put pomade in my hair before I striaghten mine. Then after I use a flat iron, the heat from the stiaghtener makes my hair really smooth and soft.

yeah this Thermal reconditioning is good and that's the only permanent hair straightening i would recommend. I have done it and well your hair doesnt become majically totally straight but i would say it works around 85% and those ppl who are really sick of the friz or the untidy wavy look that the hair gives this is the best thing!!

My friend got her hair straightened and it completley dried her hair out, it was a mess and it didn't last very long. She was very upset because it wasn't cheap. I have straight hair and would swap you any day for your curly hair.

my friend who had out of control got her hair chemically straightened and she loved it, she couldnt wash her hair for a few days but other than that, she doesn't regret it at all

Chemically straightening your hair does a lot of damage to it. I'd not reccomend unless you plan to do a lot of regular deep conditioning and keep it trimmed regularly.

I'd also like to add one little note. I have naturally wavy hair too, and I love it. I used to wish it was either straight or curly, rather than stuck somwhere in the middle where it was just messy looking, but I have finally learned to embrace it and enjoy it. Some days it forms wonderful curls, other days it's straighter, some days it's frizz, some days it's not. But my hair has it's own character, and I've learned to just let it be it's own quirky self. Kind of like me.

Before i did my permanent straightening i did a bit of research. I visited a website which is a personal experience of someone who did it with her hair pictures before and after. I'm not sure if i can paste the website here. so if someone lets me know i will do it. It is very helpful though!
