i have wavy curlyish hair and im sort of tired of and i want to get it temporarily or permanently striahgtened cause doing it with a simple flat iron just takes too much time. and i know it costs a lot of money and it will grow out and i will have to keep getting it redone but how often would i need to get it redone? and does it do any damage to your hair? and around how much does it cost to get this done? and how long does temporarily last? and does permanently last forever? please any one let me know if you have any answers !!

My friend n sister do it every 8 month to 10 month some of them once a year......it makes u're hair dryer.....prone to split ends, I dont know how mach does it cost there, but its quite expensive here, depend to the length of u're hair......the permanent doesn't last forever.....

yeah she's right...it does damage your hair....in my place not so expensive though..lol. you can try it out once, but you must take care of your hair properly so that it doesn't get too dry. you can ask advice from the hairdresser if you are still not sure ![]() |

I personally like hair straightened, thats why I have my hair that way. I've seen people switch from curly to straight, and it looks so much better! You should also ask your friends what they think.

Well my friend got it done a few years back. She didn't have to style her hair all that much after she had it done, but her hair was never really all THAT curly to begin with, just a lil puffy/frizzy. I'd say it works decently, but you will still have to fix it up if you want to go out, but for the most parts it's okay I guess. It does do damage to your hair, because just like a perm, they do put chemicals into your hair. I'm not sure how much it costs, I will find out and no its not permanent and the thing that sucks, is once your hair does start growing out you will see your natural curls at the top of your head..maybe not as many, but it will look different to the bottom. I think just like a color job the effect fades with time and doesn't work as good, but if you try taking real good care of it and keeping it moisturized, I believe it would hold its straightness longer. Maybe before you make that decision, try a straightening balm with a nice thin conditioner and brush dry. I'm not sure how curly your hair is though, so thats the only advice I can give :<

I didn't know you could permanently straighten your hair, but I just read there are a lot of bad side effects so I would say you shouldn't. And why did you make the same post twice... was it just a bump or something?

Are you thinking of Japanense Straightening or Thermal Reconditioning? I'm guessing that's what you are refering to. It takes about 4 hours and you go back every 6-8 months for a touch up, but some say its worth it. Still, it is putting chemicals on your hair which can be damaging.

I have to flat iron my hair because permanent treatments don't work on my hair. My hair gets immune to the products. If your hair isn't really curly like mine a permanent will most likely work for you. Just keep in mind if you do get one, be sure to only wash your hair only once a week so your hair won't get so dry and frizzy. Also using a deep conditioner once a week will help with the frizzies too.
