I was thinking of getting my hair permanently straightened or at least relaxed. It's somewhere between curly and wavy now, but it's really inconsistent. It's more straight toward the front and the back and underside are very curly. Frustrating! Anyway, I was wondering what kinds of treatments are available and if any of you can reccommend one over another. I should mention that my hair is relatively fine and that I dye it. Will this be a problem?
Thanks to any of you who can help!

There are many different kinds. One is the CHI straightening system which is permanent and gives amazing results but very expensive. There are many hair relaxers. You might want to stop by Sally's Beauty Supply because they offer many different temporary and permanent ones that you can do yourself. Before doing anything drastic to your hair though, make sure that you do a test strand. Take a strand of your hair in a spot that isn't very noticeable and try the product on that one strand, or ask a stylist too. This will show you what you should expect and if the treatment will damage your hair. Hope this helped.

I would say if your hair is fine and in between curly and wavy, then you may not need a traditional relaxer at all.
I would give Phyto's Straightening Balm a try and then use a heat protectant before blowing it out. Phyto is great for protecting hair and it also contains a lot of natural ingredients, if that is important to you. Pricier than drugstore, but worth it in my opinion.
