Default Hair color...

Do you color your hair? At home or salon? How often do you get it done? What brand and/or color do you use? Do you use a particualr shampoo and conditioner or other treatment in between coloring to keep it virbrant?

Just curious! LOL

I color my hair, have been for years. I mostly do it at home now, although in the past I have had it done at salons. I just do a single-process color, so it's pretty easy to do at home. I'm currently using Garnier Nutritioniste "truffle", medium natural brown. It's pretty close to my natural shade, although in the past I've been blonde, brunette, red, auburn....

I don't neccessarily use one particular brand of shampoo/conditioner, but I do tend to use ones designed for colored hair or something moisturizing.

my hair would lighten over the summer. i have long hair. i would use the wash out colors so my winter growth of hair wouldn't look like i went to a salon to lighten it. my hair is still long but now it is more gray then the dark blonde i used to have. i earned every one of my gray hairs!! i think i told you vicki i love your hair cut.

Thanks you!

I've got a lot of grey starting to come in too. Mostly in 2 streaks at the temples.

My mom is in her 60's and she has beautiful snow white hair. I remember she colored it for a while when I was younger, but once it started going salt & pepper she quit. Her natural color was dark brown like mine.

I've considered doing highlights, because one thing I'm not looking forward to is the day that I get a noticeable line of demarcation between what I'm coloring and the grey that's natural. Right now, I'm still 80% dark so it's not that noticeable, but I know that day will come.

I have a friend in his 40's who has had grey hair ever since I've known him, which is about 5 years. Then about a year ago he colored it brown. It was a bit of a shock at first, but I'm used to seeing it now. I thought he looked fine with it grey, it was just his look, but it looks good brown, too.

I'd always go to get my hair done, and for a while I dyed the living daylights out of it! I've had enough of it now, and I've got roots that are about four inches now, but I've never thought it looked particularly bad. I refuse to get the ends tinted so it looks like my roots. No more coloring for me, though I don't mind highlights now and again. (:

It takes a lot of patience to grow out hair color, so I think you're doing very well!
