I have heard two theories of what the white marks that appear on nails are... one is a sign of calcium defficency, and another is that they are just like bruises, but on your nails. I think you justhave to let them grow out, but to prevent any more appearing try taking more calcium (taking supplements, drinking milk etc.) and also try a strengthening nail polish to prevent weak nails that are more prone to bruising. Welcome to the forums, by the way-- please introduce yourself in the introductions sub forum so as we can all get to know you a little better. Have fun

white spots on nails are due to a Zinc Deficiency
food that have this are, Vegetable, whole grains, wheat bran, wheat germ, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.

Supplements recommended 15 mg amino acid-chelated zinc 3 times a day.
Msm tab 1000 mg twice a day
And good multi vitamin.

Hope this helps

Try to drink more milk too. I used to have those white marks and my mum told me it was due to a lack of calcium so the milk could help.
