HI everyone!
I'm studying Beauty Therapy and we are learning Acrylic Nails. I don't know why most of the nails I put, they either lift or break. Our teacher says it's natural cause we are just learning and it needs a lot of practice. But, I just want to know is there a trick or something when putting the acrylic ball on the nail plate? Does anyone know??? HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY! |

sorry i dont know much about acrylic nails, but others will reply soon, and i guess you should listen to your teacher because she probably knows all there is to know and just take her advice, and practise makes....

I think there is a website that covers this, I will try to find it and get back to you.

I personally have never been a fan of acrylic nails, they ruin your own nails and for a while your own nails will break untill they have grown out because of lack of breathing.
If Dust, grease or dirt on the Natural nail was not removed properly before applying acrylic, then this is the main cause for it to lift. Acrylic nails tend to break easy anyway. Also washing up can lift the acrylic.Pressure on the free edge often lifts the nail,or when picking things up things can brush upwards on the free edge causeing it to split and lift.

I do agree that they really damage the nail because it happend to me! I used to have really strong and nice nails and acrylic totally ruined it but we've got to learn
I've improved a lot though and I think it's just a matter of practice.thanks a lot for your reply...Quote:

Honestly my nails were thin and brittle before I started getting acrylics so, I don't think I could do anymore damage. ![]() |

Acrylics can be damaging to the nails, especially if not properly applied. The nail bed must first be clean and dry, free of moisture or oil, otherwise lifting and fungus can occur. Usually the nail is slightly roughed first, and treated with a product to remove any residue, to assure proper adhesion.
