Default horrible fingernails

i have let myself go over the past few years. i used to get my nails done with acrylics every 2 weeks. my nail person used an anti-fungal spray before she put the tips on.
i never had a problem with her as my nail lady. she retired and i went to a new spa type salon and got gel nails. after one week i got a fungal infection under my nail so i didn't go back anywhere. i would love to have pretty nails again. my nails are thin and i have a habit of picking at the nail. not the sides but the nail itself so i usually don't get them long enough for a plain manicure.
i would love to have long nails again but not fake ones. do you think if i get a manicure once every two weeks my nails will improve? i can get free manicures from my one job. i work 2 jobs. the part time job allows me to get
free manicures. can you help me?

If you ever get a fungal infection again try using tea-tree oil to get rid of it.
I don't know too much about nail care, so can't help with much else, sorry!

First thing stop picking at your nails, massage is great for the nail and something you can do yourself. Take an oil like Vitamin E and massage really well into the cuticle and nail bed. Use a clear polish to protect your nails while they are growing out from their weaken state. You will notice your nails will become healthier as soon as the old nail that has been damaged is gone. Use Silica, omega 3,6,9 and Biotin as supplements to your diet. Eat healthy and drink lots of water and you should be good to go for great nails in a few months.

I know how much you want nice looking nails. At one time, I too thought about getting gel nails. I posted it on this forum and got some good advice from these wonderful ladies. Judi brought up some things that really made me rethink the idea. I decided to find a good nail salon and talked to a nail technician who helped me get my real nails in beautiful condition.
I got regular manicures and I did use vitamin E on my nail beds and cuticles. After getting regular manicures and taking care of my nails, I now have ten beautifully long natural nails. The temptation is great when you see women with beautiful gel nails, but some of the nightmares that I've heard will send chills down your back. Too many things can go wrong, like losing your real nails and that's just not worth it to me. Good luck and ask a lot of questions, it helps.

i appreciate all your advice. i do take good vitamins and i drink a lot of water and juices. my hair looks great but not my nails. i will try to stop picking them. where i work i have to wash my hands every other minute so it is hard. instead of picking i will massage. sounds better and i am sure it will feel better!!! thank all of you, especially judy.

Thumbs up Nail Fungus Prevention

Don't you just feel so yucky when your nails don't look good! I had a fungus last year and totally freaked out. A friend of mine had suggested a Nail fungus cream by Barielle and it cleared up very well.

After it cleared up I was able to restore my nails with their other products-

Nail strengthener, Nail protein builder

And their creams are the best I have ever tried. They really help with my neverending dry skin.

Also coupon code FREE10 has worked for me in the past for 10% off my purchase-
