I agree I have never heard of milk increasing or causing hair growth on skin, I just know that it really leaves your skin soft, and women using it for 3000 years can't be wrong.

My favorite face cleanser; 1/2 yougart and 1/2 oatmeal in a paste
toner; witch hazel with a few rose petals and a sprig of rosemary moisturize; extra virgin coconut oil (seems pricey...but a little goes a really long way. The coconut oil can also be used as a deep conditioner for the hair and for skin...I really love this stuff. It is also eatable, I use it on my toast and when doing some frying. yum yum |

I'm sure you've all heard of this, but I use an yogurt/oatmel mask once a week. Sometimes tossing in a little honey doesn't hurt =D

I absolutely love the oil cleansing method (OCM).
1 part olive oil (any light carrier oil will do just fine) 1 part castor oil essential oils of your choice (optional) I use Lavender EO for it's relaxation properties since I shower at night. Mix together all ingredients Apply to your dry face (this is very important to remember as oil and water do not mix) Steam your face with oil mixture on (I just wet a super soft wash cloth with water as hot as I can stand and lay it across my face until the cloth cools. I do this 2 times as the cloth cools pretty rapidly) Rinse face with warm water and finish with a cool water rinse. For a super soft cloth, I just cut up some old receiving blankets since my girls are too big for them now. This way you can customize the size as well. Just cut 2 pieces of the same size (any size you want) and sew them together to get a nice weight to it. This sounds crazy, but it really does work! I have combination skin and my bf has oily skin. We both love this method. As I said earlier, water and oil don't mix so why are we washing our oily faces with water? Oils attract oils, therefore, with the OCM you are actually using oil to pull more oil out of your skin. |

I make bath salts that my friends love, using (from greatest to least ingredient- precision with this one is not necessary) epsom salts, sea salt, powdered milk (moisturizes) baking soda, granulated brown sugar (at christmas or valentine's day i like adding pretty colored sugars- sugar is a natural humectant) and optional, 1 or 2 teaspoons of essential oil- then i mix it well to prevent clumping. powdered herbs can also be added, but some can clog the drain. There is also a honey powder- some online stores carry it, that is wonderful. Honey is also a natural humectant, as are all sugars. Humectants moisturize the skin by attracting water/moisture to the skin. This is a fun recipe to make, and makes a great gift in a pretty canister or other container of your choice.
