Hi there-- I'm new. This is a great topic! My sisters and I used to experiment in the kitchen because we couldn't afford to buy face masks. I can afford 'em now, but two of the concoctions we came up with I still use now and then are:

*1 cup oatmeal plus one beaten egg plus enough honey to make a nice paste
*6-8 mashed strawberries plus juice of 1/4 lemon plus three crushed aspirin

The first one is softening, the second one helps with blackheads. Leave both on for 5-10 minutes and rinse.

Also, carrot juice makes a big difference in your skin's texture. If you have a juicer stashed in the cupboard, juicing 2-3 carrots a day and drinking it is great. Add apples and lime if the taste is too bland. Don't drink too much carrot juice or you'll turn orange! One glass a day is fine.
