Okay, after all the rave reviews I decided to give mineral makeup another try. I'd tried some of the drugstore varieties, but they aren't strictly mineral, and I just wasn't happy with it. I'd tried samples I'd ordered over the internet, but wasn't happy with that, either.

I ended up trying the Savvy Mineral Makeup from Sally Beauty Supply. The packaging claims to have the Mineral Veil incorporated into the foundation. So far (about 3 weeks now), I've been satisfied with this foundation, and that really surprised me! I really thought I wasn't going to like it. I'm not getting too much oily breakthrough during the day, and what I'm getting I can control with blotting papers and perhaps a light dusting of foundation, but it doesn't look built-up. This summer, I may try adding a seperate Mineral Veil or oil-control primer if I get too oily (July and August are really tough!)

I will say however, that there is one more thing that has really made a huge difference for me this time around. I bought a different brush. There's a nice brush included in the kit from Sally, but I'm using it for a bronzer brush rather than for foundation. I bought a good kabuki brush, and that has really made a difference in the application process. It goes on so much smoother and more evenly with a kabuki brush, and I can buff until it's almost invisible!
