Tips from Xtra (don't know some of these brands tho)
Whether it's longer lashes or the come-hither smokey eyes, we all know eye make-up can give us a dramatically different look. Here are five simple tips to freshen up your bag of tricks when it comes to the eye make-up routine. 1. For lining the eyes always use a soft pencil that doesn't tug at the delicate eyelid tissue. Check the pencil before you buy it on the back of your hand - it should glide on easily and smoothly with minimal pressure. Before you apply the liner, warm the tip of the pencil by rolling it between your fingers. 2. If you aren't brave enough for this season's coloured shadows then take the coward's route to colour. Sweep a plain base of a neutral eyeshadow such as Bobbi Brown's 'Desert' colour from her Clay Collection, over your lids and add a jolt of bright with a coloured mascara. Guerlain are doing a brilliant blue, dark violet and green mascara in their new colour range due in store this August. 3. If you're having trouble getting a neat line when you apply your eyeliner the problem may be your technique. Try applying the liner in deft, short little strokes working your way methodically along the lid - do not attempt one long stroke. 4. To keep lashes well conditioned try using Dr Haushcka's mascara as a base coat underneath your regular product. It contains neem oil to soften and condition lashes. It will take a while to dry, so don't forget to take a break between applying coats. 5. If your mascara is prone to clumping then keep a spare, clean mascara wand aside to use to give lashes a final groom while they are still wet to tidy them up.
