I bought the colours Beautiful Iris, Swish, Juxt, Carbon, and Moons Reflection.
Wow, 90$ sure went fast on 5 eyeshadows! My parents were a little disappointed that I spent that much for not very many, but I told them why I cant use any other eyeshadows (they crease in an hour).

That Carbon is my absolute favourite piece of makeup ever!!! Did you take a look at their brushes. I bought mine at M.A.C., I can not remember how many years ago, and they are still pristine!
I know carbon is black, but what are the other colours? ![]()

I didnt look at their brushes. I have all the brushes I could ever need (contouring brush, angled brush, eyeliner brush, fluff brush) except I spent a grand total of 15$ for a huge set, whereas 15$ wouldnt even buy 1 brush from mac. Honestly, when it comes to brushes, I think a brush is just a brush.
Beautiful Iris is a purple/lavender colour Swish is a pink colour Juxt is a greenish-yellow Moons Reflection is blue And as you already know Carbon is black. I dont really do 2 different colours of eyeshadow on my eyelids because it never looks the same, so I just bought some main colours ^blue, pink, purple, green. I really like them. Nothing like makeup to perk a girl up!!

Great colour choices and I wish I had your luck buying brushes. I had some poor excuses for brushes until I finally found my M.A.C. ones. Make-up purchases cheer me up too!

lol, that's a good reason. I have to remember that one next time I submit my expense report to my Production Manager... *crossing fingers* that she'll approve it...

I just bought their 266 brush last week and I only used it twice when it started to shed like crazy... Like I mean the bristles came out in chunks I bought the same 266 when it had M.A.C. PRO on the handle several years ago and it still holds up. I have noticed a steadily decline in product quality ever since Estee Lauder bought them.

I am out of it, I had no idea that they had been bought out. I did buy my brushes many moons ago and as you have said they are still great. I will not buy any new brushes there, I have had enough shedding brushes to last my lifetime already. Have you noticed a diffference in the eyeshadow quality as well? I loved the carbon but I will admit that the ones I have are older than they should be. It has always had an almost creamy texture to it, with great colour coverage and it adhears to my eye really well. Newer shadows I have purchased from there have been perfectly acceptable but more powdery than the original carbon coloured shadows I have. I thought that the difference in texture was due to the difference in colour, maybe I was wrong?

Estee Lauder bought M.A.C. about 6 years ago. Yes, Carbon has a creamy/powdery texture to it, which is better then their other black eyeshadow Nehru, which is almost a grey/black. I find their shadows now have less pigments in them and more fillers. Which means they have a powdery texture to them, like baby powder. Also, have you noticed that when you sweep your brush across any of their shadows, that the surface tends to crumble a bit, (like when you scrape the frost from a cold window?) That's the filler part I am talking about. Good quality eyeshadows shouldn't break down that way. Find a cheap drug store brand shadow and compare it M.A.C's and see if you find a similarity. Eyeshadows from Ben Nye, Cinema Secrets and Kryolan never crumble that way, and they have twice the amount of pigments in them. Just some friendly FYI... BTW, I do have 4 Carbons, because the black is really intense , I use a lot of it and M.A.C. is only line that carries refills.
