Mineral Makeup Advantages

Mineral cosmetics are not your average makeup. Typically formulated from a few select ingredients - Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Micas and Iron Oxides - mineral makeups are a concentrated form of makeup. Most commercial makeups will also contain some or all of these ingredients but they will also contain chemical or synthetic fillers so you really get less makeup for more money.
The truth is you don't need those fillers, the basic ingredients are all you need - you just need to apply it differently. Take Mineral Foundations for example, usually in a powder form, you simply swirl a dense face powder brush (Flat Top Buffer or Kabuki Brush) into a small amount of mineral powder, tap the brush so that the powder settles into the bristles and then, with firm strokes, blend the mineral powder in downward circular motions onto clean dry skin. Very little powder is needed as these are concentrated mineral pigments.
Foundations are also buildable. What this means is for all those women who are blessed with naturally flawless skin (you know who you are!!) you only need to apply a very small amount in one application. For the rest of us who need a little more help, the foundation can be applied in layers, a little at a time, to 'build' up coverage helping hide redness, acne and scars. And with Mineral Foundations you will never get that orange mask or the line along your jaw that is common with commercial liquids. Mineral foundations blend into your skin giving a natural radiant look with unmatchable coverage!
Blushes, bronzers and eye shadows are no different. Also in powder form, dip your blush or eye shadow brush into a small amount of powder, tap excess off and apply to your cheeks and eyes. Remember that these are concentrated pigments so very little is needed - too much and you will find yourself with a stripe of blush up your cheek!
Keep in mind that because you only use a very small amount - you get more makeup for less money. I used to go through a bottle of liquid foundation in a month or so now my 10 grams of foundation lasts me about 6 months. And the eye shadows and blushes will last years! And don't worry about them going bad - the ingredients are inorganic meaning that they do not harbour bacteria.
Also, most mineral cosmetics - everything from foundations to blushes to eyeshadows - contain mostly the same ingredients. So they apply smoothly with one another and can even be interchanged. We have blushes and bronzers that can be used as eyeshadows and our eyeshadows can be used as blushes and bronzers. You can even mixed them with lipbalm and apply them as lipstick. Our ingredients are all natural - there are no synthetic ingredients that can be irritating or toxic to your skin.
Mineral cosmetics that contain Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide (both white pigments) will have natural sunscreen abilities. Both these ingredients block UV rays from reaching the skin offering fantastic sun protection. I was at an outdoor show last July where the sun was beaming down on me all day (from 6 am to 4 pm). I only had my foundation on - no sunscreen - and I did not burn in the least. And I did not even have to touch up my makeup either.
I had a girlfriend over a while back and was showing her how amazing my mineral foundation was. I told her that not only did it provide amazing coverage, but it lasted all day. You can even go swimming in the stuff I said. To which she scoffed immediately. So I turned on the tap and started splashing water onto my face - over and over and over. I can't recall the last time I saw someone so shocked - my makeup did not move, run, smear or slip. Not only do Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide provide sun protection, but they are also water resistant. I have had clients say that their eyeshadow survived a shower - with soap and water!
