Ok, I've been wearing eyeliner for years. Just this past year, my liner will be practically smudging down to my cheeks within just hours. After several hours it looks like I spent the entire night partying it up.
I've swapped eyeliner brands to the MAC Powerpoint which is supposed to be anti-smudge and for a month or two it works and i had no more smudging. It's doing it again. I like wearing eyeliner, but I can't figure out why it's doing it this much and just started doing it this past year. I mean is it my eyes watering overboard? I don't think they are...I'm just confused. Also, is ther another brand that won't do this? Any help on this topic? Thanks! |

Other than using a primer or concealer on your eyelids or you could try translucent powder. The main reason are eyeliners or eyeshadow do not stay put is because of oil on your eyelid.
I have also used Gel liner and I find it works well, I use Lise waiter but uncertin where your are posting from.

Are you talking about your waterline? If so, i have heard the best reviews for MAC fluidline. Your not supposed to line your waterline with it, but the worst that could happen is it will irrate your eyes, and if it does......duh dont put it on again lol

I had the exact same problem...and didn't wear eyeliner for a year or so. Until I found eyeshadow "transformer" which is essentially a clear liquid that turns any eyeshadow into a liquid for lining. My favorite is Paula Dorf's but it's kind of expensive and I'll bet you can an eyeshadow transformer by doing a 'google' search or heading to your local theatrical supply shop, or department store cosmetics counter.
Anyway, all you do is pour a single drop of transformer into a small dish (like the lid of an eyeshadow), dip your favorite eyeliner brush (you can either use the very fine, thin-tipped liner brush or the stiff, straight-edged liner brush--I've found I like them both equally) into the liquid until the bristles are soaked. Then you rub the wet brush on the surface of your eyeshadow until the brush is covered in color. Then you simply line your eyes (use a Q-tip dipped in water to correct any mishaps) and let them dry. That eyeliner will stay on until you wash it off at the end of the day--and it will come off easily with cleanser and water, unlike many waterproof eyeliners. Another tip: I like to go back over the liner with dry shadow to 'smudge' it a bit and lock in the color. Or you can simply take a small dry brush and rub gently over the line to soften it if you like.

I like to smudge powder eyeshadow over eyeliner, too.
Helps keep it in place.

Hey I have been using rimmel (jet black) for over 3 years now, and I have never had a problem with it, it's the only one I use because it is the only one that doesnt make my eyes water (which is weird because I don't have senstive eyes) I think you should try it, I believe you will get great results, if not... feel free to hit me with something ...
