Default cheap makeup v the pricey stuff

I was wondering ,on the whole do people prefer the pricy make up brands such as mac, chanel, lancome etc to the slightly cheaper stuff such as collection 2000,maybellene and boots 17 range?
Do you think the cost is worth it or do the cheaper brands do the job just as well?

I personally find that some of the less expensive brands I have better success with. Lots of people wear Dior, Lancome,YSL and Channel and swear by it, I have worn both expensive and inexpensive and I have always gone back to my regular brands.
Sometimes I think the only difference is the packaging and the majority of the above mentioned own the smaller brands and manufacture them as well.
Thats just my take.

hmmm yeah i guess it kinda just makes you feel pampered more to use some of the more expensive products.I have only tried 'designer' lip glosses and blushers and i found that they do tend to last longer both when wearing them and i get many more applications from them. Not sure wether they actually looked any better though

I prefer the higher end cosmetics. I do use some drugstore products, but on the whole I much prefer brands like Estee Lauder, Clinique or Lancome. I find that they usually go on smoother, cover better, blend easier, are more densely pigmented, and last longer.

some of the stuff that cost less isn't made with as nice of products that can damage ur skin, leaving ur skin whose off then when u started wearing it. somehow i trust the expensive stuff more. My sister who works at walgreens uses their makeup and loves it.

I think im going to try out some of the more expensive stuff but at 17 its can be quite hard to find the funds.I guess if i purchase say a mac foundation which give me perfect coverage from using a smaller amount than my regular maybellene foundation then it will be worth it right?

I think that as long as you use "good quality" eyeshadow and skin care....the rest can be drug store or less expansive brands.

Cheaper eyeshadow has less pigment, which means you would have to use more to even come close to a more quality product.

With skin care, if you have a lot of problems...it is always better to go with a high quality product.
I tried Clinque skin care...and it still bothered my skin...i'm overly sensative.
although I will have to say...there are always exceptions to every rule!!
I use Avon skin care for oily skin and have not had any problems so far.....since I get a discount on their items...I use Avon and Smashbox almost exclusively.

Out of all of my make-up, the most expensive (or at least the 'highest end') cosmetic is my bourjois foundation. So I don't really have much experience with the expensive stuff like YSL and mac. Most of my stuff is Natural Collection, Rimmel, No 7 and Maybelline. All this stuff works fine for me although I guess I don't have much to compare it to apart from the truly cheap brands like Miss Sporty.

I love using higher end cosmetics, i'm not sure why i just think they feel a little better on my skin, although when i run out of a product and am in desperate need of it, i just pop into a drug store and grab a cheap cosmetic, and noone notices the difference.
