Default Eyeliner Tips?

Hey everyone! Hope yall are doing well over the holidays. Anyway, I was just curious if anyone knew about some tips for preventing eyeliner to get all over your upper eyes, close to the brow area. I like to wear my eyeliner right above my eyelashes on my top lids for a darker look, but if I wear light or no eyeshadow it leaves a black line in that area. Is there any special eyeliner that could help prevent that? Tips would be good too. I do the whole concealer and then a light powder before my shadow, but that doesnt help either. Any suggestions? Thanks yall!

I don't have any special tips but will simply share my routine. I usually underline my eyes and go for a neutral colored lips and cheek so I have practiced a lot with my eyeliner ( most of the time a liquid one ).
First things first. Apply a good quality eyeshadow ( I usually use Art Deco's eye shadow base first ) blend well and allow it to settle and dry down.
Then comes the eyeliner - start by depositing excess product onto the back of the hand, you need a very little on your brush! Then line into the roots of the lash with really small strokes.
You may like to extend the line slightly outward and upward beyond the lash line, but again don't go to extremes. Allow the line to dry and settle ( a good quality liner will take just seconds ) and then you may continue with the mascara.
Hope it helps a bit

I don't wear eyeshadow but I do wear eyeliner. I use Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer and it is the BEST! product I use.

The primer rubs on your eyelid and is supposed to stop any creasing of eyeshadow. I'm sure it would do this perfectly. For me the primer completely removes any possibility of having oily eyelids for me (I have oily skin and without the primer my eyelids are shining like crazy by the end of the day).

When my eyelids would get oily my eyeliner would often leave the line like you're talking about. With the primer I never have this issue and my eyelids look great all day. The primer actually makes it look like I have a pretty translucent eyeshadow on. I love this stuff.

I love Urban Decay Eyesahdow Primer Potion! It's great stuff!
Their 24/7 eyeliner pencils are long-wearing,too.
I've had great luck with both these products.

Default mAY ALREADY BE SUGGESTED...BUT...

I have a heavy eyelid so I know what you mean. I use a product that makes any liner waterproof,It is aqua eyes,or I also use bare escentuals..liner sealer. I don't mix them anymore,I just put a thin coat of either product on top of my liner of choice that day. It has really helped me solve this problem. You can find either on sephora.com, to take a look, they last forever you use a tiny bit.

I bought the bare escentuals liner sealer, but I haven't used it yet. On the box it says not to apply the sealer directly to your lids, so I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping to use it with other liners, not just the powder kind that BE makes. Does it bother your eyes at all to put it on your lids? If it seems to be working for you, then I think I will try it myself.

I use that too and it works well but I would recommend following the directions and not applying it directly to your lids because it will bother your eyes a little bit from my experience anyway.

HI, I AM USING THE HIP GEL EYELINER RIGHT NOW, I PUT THAT ON AND THEN TAKE A CLEAN SKINNY BRUSH AND PUT A SMALL AMOUNT OF THE B.E. LINER SEALER RIGHT OVER IT,NO PROBLEMS......I also use the BE liner powder dry for a soft look, then put the liner sealer over it,ONE more...I will use any shadow I want as a liner and do the same ,light amount right on top of it, I have never had a problem with my eyes,,I am doing all this on upper lid or under lower lashes, never on inner rim of eye. HTH!!
