Default e.l.f. brushes

I guess you just never know what you can find at Dollar General these days! This is the first time I've seen e.l.f. (yep, as in "eyes, lips, face") brushes there. I picked up a foundation brush for $1. I've read somewhat mixed reviews on e.l.f. products, but for $1 I couldn't resist. I've been wanting a new foundation brush, as i'm going to be switching to a long-wear liquid foundation soon with the summer heat coming on.
Will report back after I've used it!

Please do - if you give positive feedback, I'm going to order at least $50 off their site to build up my makeup collection
Quite interested in their 'Makeup For Life' promotion.

I've heard mixed reviews on e.l.f. products. Some are good, some are not. The foundation brush is not as good as a higher-end brand brush, but is as good as most drug store brand brushes I've had. So for $1, it was definitely worth trying out.

Smile Alternative mac brushes

Hi all, this is my 1st post on here! I was wondering if anyone knows any cheaper alternative to the mac 219 brush???? I love mac products but feel that the brushes are a little expensive. I live in the uk.

welcome to the forums
as far as UK brands go, Ruby and Millie do good make-up brushes, although I'm not sure if they'd be a lot cheaper than Mac ones.
They're a brand that's exclusive to Boots though, so perhaps there'd be a high chance of them being on sale at some point!

Surprisingly, ELF eyeshadow brushes are REALLY soft. They're also 1 USD each too. I've also heard that their blush brushes are soft & useful as well.

I don't use a kabuki since I feel like the application is really...heavy.
Instead I use a MAC stipling duo fiber brush, #187(got a cheap one off of Ebay).
I can use it for applying my liquid foundation & my powder.

I use the regular face brush that came with the starter kit for Bare Escentuals foundation. It's fluffly like a powder brush would be, but the overall shape is longer and more tapered than a powder brush. I've noticed that Avon also makes a face brush for their mineral foundations, and I've even noticed they are now selling starter kits, too.

Coastal Scents has good brushes, and they're inexpensive too! I just bought 6 brushes from CS yesterday, when I move and get a full time job,I plan on buying a few MAC brushes,as well.
