Default Makeup advice for my weird eyes?

I have these weird eyes cause I'm from Vietnam that aren't like other Asian eyes because there's no epicanthal fold. I need to know what kind of eye structure I have so I can figure out how to best use makeup. below are some bad pics of myself to show what they look like in the worst light. often it makes me look old, and if I try to fix it with makeup I either look older or sl-ttier! I think what I have is "deep-set eyes" with big browbone and cheekbone. Is this right and is the comparison chart in my pics the best way to fix it? they say to darken the lid...

You have a diamond shaped face and your eyes are narrow-set, and droopy. This means that your eyes appear close together and the outer corners slope downwards.

The corrections in your eye charts are incorrect for your eye shape.

The first thing to do before any eye shadow application is to apply a base (foundation) or primer to the entire lid. Make sure the base application is very light.

For closed-set (narrow-set) eye shapes, you would do this application method:

1) Blend a light shade of eye colour to the entire lid.
2) Apply a dark toned eye colour to the outer 3/4 corner of your lid from the lash line to the crease area.
3) Blend the edge of the colour slightly towards the centre of the mobile lid.
4) Apply a top and lower liner, starting from the inner corner and gradually broadening it at the outer corner.
5) Apply a highlighter to the brow bone.
6) Apply mascara.

For droopy eye shapes, this is the application technique you would use:

1) Apply a medium or dark shade eye colour beginning at the outer 3/4 corner of your lid, from the lash line and blend upward to the brow bone and inwards toward the middle of the lid.
2) Define the lash line under the lash root.
3) Apply a highlighter to the brow bone and blend.
4) Apply mascara.

Notice that the two eye shapes use very similar techniques in terms of correction to open and balance your eyes. You would combine the two techniques together as one application method.

Based on your photos, your skin tone and texture is quite good. Definitely apply a moisturizer with an spf and is balanced for your skin’s pH.

Since you’re from Vietnam, (which is hot and humid), I suggest using a tinted moisturizer, or a sheer liquid foundation. I would say a yellow-based tone, however I can’t tell if the undertone would be cool or warm, based on the 3 photos. The undertone is very crucial in determining the correct foundation shade.

Go for a warm pink shade for blush and a pink/beige lip colour or gloss.

Definitely curl your lashes and then apply your mascara using a small (.5 cm) fan brush, (M.A.C. # 205) the brush will allow the mascara to reach right into the root of lash and comb right through to the tip. The traditional mascara brush/wands won’t do this on Asian eyes.

Darken your brows with a black/brown brow powder combination and then powder your complexion very lightly using a blot powder.

Good Luck

Your best bet is to book a consultation at a counter and tell them to show you how. This way, you'll get on-the-spot feedback.

There are 2 ways to approach this.

1) Let the beauty advisor do one eye as you're watching in a mirror, and you do the other, while discussing feedback.

2) You do both eyes under the guidance of the BA.

Whatever way you choose, it's a practical mini make-up lesson, and it's specific to your eye shape only.

Videos do work, however, they just cover the generic basics and you can't ask any questions.

Default video demos for make up!

before buying any make up goods I always check out what users/ owners say about them I do this at Expotv. com- It really helps to see what other people like me have to say about products before I buy them.

... That's good.

But... What does product reviews have to do with a make-up lesson?

Your post should be in the Beauty Product Reviews in the Products forum.

Wow - Vogue gave such a great, full-detailed, comprehensive analysis that Im hoping Vogue can help me identify my eye type too.

The top part of my lid (above the crease) is very fleshy and the crease itself is VERY defined. The line is visible even when my eye is closed. On top of that, my eyes water constantly and even though my mom has been telling me since I was a child not to rub them, I havent completely kicked the habit so the skin around my eyes are very dark (they look like as if I was on the losing end of a prize fight ). Anywho, Ive reading the common "eye shape" descriptors but I still cant tell if my eyes are prominent, hooded, droopy or just plain ole standard. Here are some pics..........

ONE EYE OPENED

ONE EYE CLOSED
