Unhappy Best all day foundation - need help!

I work 12 hour shifts and so far have not found a foundation that will last the whole shift. I saw on Rachel Ray some makeup person saying Max Factor lasting performance did well but was heavy. Does anyone know of a good covering, long-lasting makeup?

Also I need a good mascara. I have long lashes, just need to plump them up a little. I need to avoid the dreaded racoon eyes. I have several boxes of makeup that just does not work! Of course I am afraid to try department store makeup (lancome etc.) due to the expensiveness factor. If I knew the expensive ones worked, I would buy. I even read reviews on Amazon.com, but could not find anything definite.

BTW I have forgotten that I have a tube of the Monistat Anti-chafing gel. I will try that tomorrow on my oily face in hopes it will help my makeup last longer. The first time I tried it (months ago), I was using mineral makeup. I stopped using it because I broke out and thought it was the Monistat, but I believe it was the BE mineral makeup. Actually I am positive it was that because I broke out everytime I used it. Then I switched to a more expensive mineral makeup that worked, but it still left my face all dried up looking. Because of that I don't wear mineral makeup anymore.

They may be a little heavier than you want to wear, but MAC's full coverage foundation and their Studio Tech self-setting foundation are unbelievably durable. (The stuff was originally formulated for photo applications, so it holds up well to sweat and abuse.)

I'm using Maybelline Super Stay Silky Foundation, and I have oily skin. Most foundations just slide right off in the summer heat. So far, I'm liking this one.
I used to use Estee Lauder almost exclusively, but I'm trying to cut down on expenses,so now I'm using drugstore products. If you don't mind the cost, Estee Lauder Magnascopic is a fabulous volumizing mascara. Currently, I'm using Maybelline Great Lash (in the pink & green tube) in "Blackest Black" and it's working pretty well for me.

depending on the client, I am not a huge fan of BE..As a 39 year old woman I find it shows my fine lines and pores too...

I would try using a face primer such as smashbox to help your foundation last a bit longer. You can use that under any foundation. Have you tried applying your makeup with a foundation brush! If not, you must try this! It works wonders!

For mascara I  Dior Show Mascara. For something comparable for less $ then I think the Voluminous by Loreal is great too. However it tends to come out on the wand a bit much, but I wipe it with a paper towel before applications and then apply! Both come in waterproof.

Hope that helps!!!

dang. that would have been excellent for my brides! I can't use foundation with SPF in it for photography. It has higher levels of Titanium Dioxide in it and that can cause a ghost white look on film.

I use Estee Lauder's Equalizer foundation. I have combination skin and it works very well for me. I do find that it does last all day. On the downside, it is expensive.
