I'm 17 and I really want to start wearing makeup. I have very oily skin and want to make my skin less oily.
I don't know if I should go all out and wear lipstick, eyeshadow and etc... What should I wear to have the natural look? |

HY Cute
Since,ur skin is oily,so i suggest u to apply some ice cube to rub on ur face before applying...makeup. This will not only make ur skin..look fresh ,but also..makes ur makeup to stay longer.... Try it. And yes you can wear.some light brown shades for ur eyes..and..cheeks...this will give you a natural look..and apart from this, you can go for...some light pink lipstick.. All over you look natural, fresh and glowing.

Well what are your best features?pick the features u want to bring out and the ones u want to make subtle. So first start by doing your usual skincare regimen..wash..tone..moisturize, then apply a light matte foundation with a foundation brush..pick your coverage..sheer to moderate, then curl ur eyelashes, swipe on black mascara...works for everyone..make sure to use a side to side motion starting from the base on the top..that way u dont miss a lash, then go back and get the ones u missed, then apply a brown shadow really close to the base of your eyelashes, top and bottom.. then use a shadow that matches ur brows to fill in gaps..of course make sure ur brows r well groomed or it just wont look good, then line ur lips with a very nude pink, apply a little gloss, blend, and go!
hope i helped! |

When I started wearing makeup I wore some pretty crazy colors. I eventually started to find out what colors looked best on me. I read alot of makeup books too. I noticed that every book I have read about makeup have different ideas and ways that cosmetics should be applied. The thing is to use some of the advice and leave the others behind depending on your personal opinion.

always experiment....n finally u'll find the right technique n the right color.....
for me natural makeup is usually just moisturizer, sunblock, powder, then, nude lipstick n lipgloss (usually beige or peach), a little bit of mascara, n of course, blush on to make me look fresh (pink or bronze for me) |

if you dont want to go completely all out, you could just go for the very bare minimum and wear brown or clear mascara, a little blusher and some clear lip-gloss. When I first started wearing loadsa make-up, clear lip-gloss was an essential to me, and it still is!

vogueboy is absolutely right. Try some different looks (go to your local cosmetics counter and let them do a feature presentation or two on you) and make sure you find a good oil-free foundation for your base--I really like Trucco's Powder Foundations because they are versatile and allow for light, medium or full coverage, depending on the application you employ...plus they are well priced and very well made.

Might sound a bit DIY but try using a slight dab of TCP on to your oily areas of your skin before applying make-up, it dries out the skin slightly and lasts for ages. You can get it from any drug store, pharmacy etc. For a first timer just start bu using a foundation and blush it will make you feel slightly done up without feeling covered up!! maybe add some vaseline to your lips or a tinted lip balm, just go steady to begin with and leave time to experiment, dont be afraid to do it by take your time, it maybe a big shock to people if you go out looking completely done up and a lil OTT!! have fun with it!!
