I've heard that drinking more water helps get rid of the dark circles...just a tip, hope it works out.

Apply cold raw grated potato mixed with the juice of half lemon around the eye area. Leave on for about 20 minutes and wash off with cold milk.

You do need to moisturise the undereye area a bit before using a concealer, especially one that is powder or cream to powder.

The one i use, being a dark girl and sometimes waking up to very dark circles, is Physician's Formula Magic Cube in the yellow tone. This neutralises and brightens all dark areas and stays put too.

Never use Yellow color based concealer. Many people think to use yellow. I watched a video by celebrity makeup artist Eve Pearl. She sells a salmon color concealer. I treid it and it works great it is expensive. You can find alternatives at the drugstore. The yellow will make you under eyes look green.
She also recommends using a concealer brush such as this

Then use powder to set it.

you can cover a dark cirle by following steps:
1. Take a concealer brush and apply concealer where the discoloration is. Make sure not to apply on your "normal" skintone. If discoloration is very dark, use a yellow concealer.
2. Next, take your ring finger and in a tapping motion blend the concealer.
3. Then apply your foundation. I think it is easier to apply the foundation using a foundation brush over the areas where you used concealer. Use a tapping motion as you go over those spots that you just concealed.
