Default Powder VS Foundation

I was using a mineral powder and have noticed that it is starting to look cakey so, I am trying to find something new.

My questions is do people usually use foundation and powder? Can you just use foundation with powder and still get a great look.

I am 28 and starting to see lines I want to try the Cover Girl And Olay Foundation but not sure if I need to buy some type of powder??

Thanks for the advice!

I think people use both. Foundation is to even out the skin tone and powder is to reduce shine. I actually like the foundation compact that turns into powder.

i never used foundation because i never learned how to use it right. i practiced for hours, days. just never looked right on me. i used powder all the time and it seemed to work perfect for me. i didn't have any uneven skin tone or scars so i guess that is why the powder worked. i also used a little blush, didn't need too much because i am a natural blusher!!!

Foundation evens out your skin tone and covers minor imperfections. Powder sets the foundation and usually helps control shine.

If you're having problems with mineral make up settling into fine lines/wrinkles you could try applying it by using a small amount at a time and buffing it into the skin longer, also apply it in fine layers until you get the coverage you need without it getting too heavy or cakey.

I personally do not use foundation....I just use powder to control the shine. The only time i use foundation is to cover up a blemish, never all over my face, because i am paranoid about breaking out, and putting on foundation (to me) seems like a big pore blocker.
I like covergirl in the lightest shade to stop my shine.
