Question Nightmare experiences at the cosmetic counter

Yeah we've all had one bad experience or two...

Anyone want to share their nightmare stories? I am sure there's a lot of them and I think we can all relate...

I got a bad makeover at some cosmetic counter, the BA didn't pay much attention when giving me the make over. She gave me too much foundation. My eye make up were mess my brow didn't look simetric. She scratch my eye area too hard (it can cause premature lines)....I really didn't enjoy it

Ah yes, the typical 'I know what's best for you...' routine

Sometimes the BA's forget it's what YOU want. After all, you are the paying customer.

I had a make-over with 'the body shop' and I found the girl was really nice, though I'm not sure I would ever wear what she gave me as I had a minor drag queen look. Though to be honest the girl looked almost the same, she was nice but that make-up wasn't.

And they don't know how to do men's make-up either...

Even though Beauty Advisors are trained on the lines that they're promoting, yet when it comes to them offering techniques and alternatives to comparable lines, It becomes very frustrating.

Then it hits me, they're Cash Jockeys, where the bottom line is Sales and their motivation is their Commission.

Not Customer Service. Some are some are not...

One time my friend took me to a makeup counter to get a make-over and I dont know if the lady was really insulting me but she seemed like she gave me a a guilt trip about what I liked to wear. She said I wore too much makeup- which back then may have been true, then she said I didn't wear the right colors for my face, and that I should avoid the bronzy and dark colors. She then gave me all purplely colors, and then wanted me to buy the makeup and and I had a gift card, but she didn't tell me the prices and went ahead and just rang it up. Come to find out I was allergic to the makeup because the powders were so fine they were causing me to cough a lot. It's probably not as bad as it sounds but she didn't seem to care about what I wanted.
